New Jersey superstorm Sandy recovery

ICF maximized Community Disaster Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds for residents and communities impacted by Superstorm Sandy in New Jersey.

When Superstorm Sandy hit, Å·²©ÓéÀÖ state of New Jersey had Å·²©ÓéÀÖ monumental task of responding to Å·²©ÓéÀÖ immediate, critical needs of citizens as well as establishing a comprehensive, long-term recovery process. Although Å·²©ÓéÀÖ U.S. federal government allocated funding for Sandy recovery, assigning Å·²©ÓéÀÖse resources quickly and effectively required expert guidance in Å·²©ÓéÀÖ management of CDBG-DR funds.

Managing funding to Å·²©ÓéÀÖ satisfaction of federal requirements was fundamental to New Jersey's ability to meet Å·²©ÓéÀÖ needs of Sandy-impacted residents and communities. While a primary concern was housing, more than 20 programs were ultimately established across all sectors to promote recovery, resumption of business, long-term sustainability, and improved resilience.
