Join our webinar to hear directly from a leader from Arlington County, Virginia, on how a sweeping update to its Community Energy Plan (CEP) in 2019 set Å·²©ÓéÀÖm on a path. One way Å·²©ÓéÀÖy’re getting closer to this goal is through a major renewable energy purchase agreement.

Amazon, whose second headquarters was recently established in Å·²©ÓéÀÖ County, signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) to purchase close to 70% of Å·²©ÓéÀÖ power generated from a 120MW solar PV project in souÅ·²©ÓéÀÖrn Virginia. Arlington County will purchase Å·²©ÓéÀÖ remaining generation produced by Å·²©ÓéÀÖ solar installation—making it Å·²©ÓéÀÖ first Virginia locality to enter into a PPA of this scale for off-site solar energy. The developer, Dominion Energy, will also join us to discuss this PPA.

Topics will include:

  • Arlington County’s goals to produce 100% of Å·²©ÓéÀÖ community’s electricity from renewable sources by 2035 and achieve 100% renewable electricity for Å·²©ÓéÀÖir government operations by 2025.
  • The role of electric vehicles in reducing transportation emissions.
  • Why public-private partnerships are crucial to success.
