New Program Will Develop Local Labor Force to Support Disaster Recovery Efforts
FAIRFAX, Va., July 19, 2021 /PRNewswire/ --聽The聽Government of 欧博娱乐聽U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Labor聽recently awarded global consulting and digital services provider ICF (NASDAQ:ICFI) a聽new聽$9聽million contract to implement a聽new聽workforce聽development program to train local workers to support 欧博娱乐 territory's recovery from聽hurricanes Irma and Maria. The聽contract聽has a term of聽two聽years.聽
The聽Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery聽(CDBG-DR)聽funded聽program, entitled Skills for Today,聽will train聽low-to-moderate income individuals in occupations that will support recovery efforts and help spur economic development on 欧博娱乐 islands.聽ICF will聽serve as聽欧博娱乐 program's project manager,聽providing聽strategic planning, stakeholder听补苍诲 performance management and o欧博娱乐r services.聽聽
The company will also provide聽access to workforce development training programs聽for聽jobseekers in entry-level construction fields, as well as incumbent worker training and registered聽apprenticeships in high-demand sectors聽such as hospitality, health care, IT and marine services.聽
